Vitalik Buterin’s new idea suggests that users can run nodes closer to home to minimize the complexity of using Ethereum. Instead of storing all the information about Ethereum, each node would only keep details that affect its users. If this happened, it would require less storage, since the current storage is more than 1.3 terabytes.

The model enables nodes to collect the necessary data and retrieve information from the past. It is organized similarly to libraries, where books are shared in different locations. It ensures data is not lost by lightening the parts of the hardware that require extra work from users.

Vitalik Buterin highlighted that the current system adds too much complexity. Even when technology advances, setting up a full node usually means using a fast computer or cloud services. With the new system, people will not rely on major centralized platforms.

Vitalik Buterin’s proposal aims to achieve the same results as the Pectra upgrade. They believe Pectra is the most remarkable update Ethereum has ever achieved. The main goal is to scale the network and avoid centralization.
