Vogue Williams and Nicky Byrne lend a hand to Amazon as they launch official Irish website
March 18, 2025
Irish entrepreneur Vogue Williams, former Irish goalie Shay Given and Westlife star Nicky Byrne have teamed up with Amazon to help celebrate the launch of the company’s official, dedicated Irish website.
No longer will we have to use the UK website that tells us the item we’re looking for doesn’t ship to our location, as the new website offers customers across Ireland access to more than 200 million products in euro prices.

From today, Irish customers will be able to enjoy ‘One-Day Delivery’ on millions of products and will have access to clear and logical pricing without any additional customs charges that they were previously paying for international products.
Irish shoppers will soon have the option to browse small Irish businesses and large, well-known brands including Barry’s Tea, Bewley’s, and Ella & Jo on the ‘Brands of Ireland’ page as part of a collaboration with Enterprise Ireland.
To celebrate the launch, as of March 18, customers can join Prime on Amazon.ie for just €6.99 per month, which gives subscribers fast, free delivery, exclusive deals, Prime Day access, award-winning entertainment, live UEFA Champions League matches, free games, and partner perks with Odeon and Deliveroo, including two tickets for €10 and free restaurant delivery for Plus Silver.
As for Irish customers who already have UK Prime memberships, they can easily switch over to the new subscription deal, and will automatically have their UK Prime membership cancelled and refunded when they do so. All customers, including those who are switching from a UK membership, can try Amazon.ie Prime by signing up for a 30-day free trial.
Alison Dunn, Ireland Country Manager at Amazon said on the launch: ‘Our teams across the country are unbelievably proud and incredibly excited to launch Amazon.ie. The store brings a wide selection of great value products with fast delivery to customers in Ireland, a local Prime membership with incredible benefits and savings, and lots of opportunities for Irish businesses to reach more customers.
‘We have been building towards this moment since the launch of our Fulfilment Centre in Dublin in 2022, and we can’t wait to write the next chapter of our story in Ireland.’
Meanwhile, Taoiseach Micheál has praised Amazon’s expansion to Ireland, adding that it will ‘give consumers more choice and better value’ as well as help small, medium and large Irish businesses grow their brands on our own shores and internationally.
He said: ‘By using Amazon, people know that they will get a well-trusted, great service. It’s good news for all.’
Peter Burke TD, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, added: ‘I welcome today’s news of the official launch of Amazon.ie. A dedicated Irish Store will enhance customer experiences in Ireland and provide a significant platform for Irish SMEs to expand their online presence and grow their business.
‘Amazon.ie provides even more opportunities for Irish businesses to reach global markets and help create domestic jobs. Amazon is a significant contributor to the Irish economy and today’s announcement strongly underscores Amazon’s continued commitment to Ireland.’
Irish icons including Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, football legend Shay Given, and media star Vogue Williams are celebrating the launch in style — personally delivering orders to lucky customers. From signed records and books to autographed footballs, these surprise drop-offs are bringing a touch of star power to doorsteps across the country.
‘The launch of Amazon.ie presents a significant opportunity for our business and others in Ireland,’ said Helena Dingley from Ella & Jo. ‘It will help us reach new customers, strengthen our brand, and support our retail partners. Amazon’s infrastructure and expertise will help expand our presence in the domestic market, while also accelerating our international growth.’
‘The launch of Amazon.ie is great news for Irish businesses and consumers,’ said James Madden, co-founder of independent Irish fitness brand Swifter. ‘For Swifter, it means we are able to reach more local customers and grow in our home market, which is exciting to be part of.’
The company has a strong presence in Ireland, employing around 6,500 people across Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda in roles spanning data engineering, operations, and finance.
Since 2004, it has invested over €22 billion in Ireland, opening six sites, including a fulfilment centre in Baldonnell, a delivery station in Ballycoolin, data centres, and corporate offices in Cork and Dublin.
