The automaker released a teaser image on March 12 showing the SUV’s rear exterior, which it said will feature “muscular proportions,” “sleeker exterior surfacing,” and “all-new sheetmetal.” The image includes a curved red taillight strip spanning the rear, with a visible seam likely outlining the rear hatch. The Volkswagen logo appears illuminated.

A second teaser released on March 19 provides a glimpse of the interior, which Volkswagen described as “more premium and more modern, yet unmistakably Atlas.” The image shows enhanced ambient lighting, with blue and green illuminated accents across the dashboard and door panels, along with what appears to be a passenger-side display.

Volkswagen said the interior has been completely redesigned, though additional details were not disclosed.

Key specifications, including potential hybrid or electric variants, trim level changes, and feature updates, have not yet been confirmed.

The 2027 Atlas is expected to build on the current model’s reputation for a premium look and feel, with more information to be revealed during its debut at the New York International Auto Show.
