Walmart investing millions into Midlands stores for major makeovers

Walmart is investing in its Midlands locations.
On April 28, Walmart unveiled details of 33 planned store remodels this year in South Carolina and new investments focused on enhancing the associate experience and community engagement.
“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Annie Walker, Senior Vice President, East Business Unit at Walmart. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”

5420 Forest Drive, Columbia
1019 Old Barnwell Road, Columbia
5556 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington
2401 Augusta Road, West Columbia
Walmart is aiming at re-imagining the in-store shopping experience with updates throughout the store, including:
· New Look: Big, bold signage. New displays to better showcase merchandise.
· More Selections: Expanded departments, new items.
· Expanding Online Pickup & Delivery: To fulfill the growing number of online customer orders.
· Rethinking The Pharmacy: Wider aisles. New private screening room. Privacy checkout areas.
