Gov. Tim Walz and the Office of Cannabis Management signed a cannabis deal with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa on Monday.

According to a news release, the agreement outlines how the two agencies will work together to regulate cannabis and promote public safety.

This is the fourth agreement of its kind — the state has also signed deals with White Earth Nation, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and the Prairie Island Indian Community. Each of the agreements also contain provisions to create opportunities for Tribal Nations to partner with state-licensed businesses to sell Tribally-grown products.
