Weed cookies recalled in Oregon due to unlisted allergen
March 29, 2025
The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission recalled a local brand of weed cookies Friday due to a lack of lactose warning.
Lissa’s Fresh Baked Cookie Bites, which are made with butter, are being pulled from shelves after the brand failed to list milk as an allergen on the packaging, the commission said in a press release. The recall covers the THC treat’s snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies.
The commission approves labels for cannabis products before they roll out to stores, according to its website.
Officials said that the cookies pose a risk to those with severe milk allergies. However, they identified no other issues beyond the faulty labeling.
“The (Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission) has not received any health-related complaints from the use of the recalled products,” officials said in the release.
The Oregon Department of Agriculture uncovered the labeling error in a routine inspection of a marijuana shop, the release said. The commission said the cookies were sold in up to 37 stores across Oregon since November 2023, including in Portland, Medford and Eugene.
The cannabis oversight body said it is tracking affected retailers and will send notices to those shops to “halt further distribution and sale.” Officials asked anyone who bought the recalled cookies to throw them out.
