Western Resilience Center seeking nominees for Environmental Leadership Awards

The nonprofit Western Resilience Center, formerly known as the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, is currently accepting nominations from the community for the annual Environmental Leadership Awards.
These awards recognize individuals, organizations and partners making a lasting impact through climate action, sustainability collaboration and community leadership.
New this year, the public is invited to nominate community members for the awards by completing an online form including a short narrative outlining why the person should receive the honor.
Award categories include Shining Star, Sustainable Business, Waste Diversion, Government Leadership, Environmental Cairn, Community Leader, Lifetime Achievement, Yampa Valley Connector, Educator and Rising Leader.
Nominees should be in the Yampa Valley or have made contributions in the valley toward climate, environment and community resilience.
Nominations are due by Dec. 5 at Westernresilience.org/events/environmental-leadership-awards. Awards will be announced during a public celebration at Bud Werner Memorial Library Hall starting at 5 p.m. Jan. 22, 2026.
