What to buy and avoid at October Prime Day, per shopping experts

October 3, 2025

Black Friday in October?

Amazon’s highly anticipated fall sale event, Prime Big Deal Days, starts next week — running from Oct. 7 to 8 and bringing some of the best prices of the year on everything from tech to clothing to your favorite skincare.

The e-commerce behemoth often offers prices that rival Black Friday and Cyber Monday, meaning it’s smart to shop strategically. We suggest stocking up on year-round staples that won’t be significantly less (if at all) during the Thanksgiving-timed deals, and buying things that may be scarce in inventory by the time November rolls around. (Or, get ahead on your holiday gifting!)

Scroll on for our suggestions on how to get the most out of October Prime Day.

What to Buy During Prime Big Deal Days

Apple products

“I’ve waited to buy new AirPods in the past, since they always go on sale during Prime Day,” Page Six Style and Shopping Director Elana Fishman advises. (She’s not alone in coveting the Bluetooth ear buds, given everyone from Taylor Swift to Oprah has been snapped wearing various versions.)

Apple Watches, iPads and other top tech finds from the company have also been discounted during past Prime Days.

Closet staples

Hanes Men’s X-Temp Short Sleeve Polo Shirt

These Hanes men’s polos are such a versatile layering option and wardrobe staple, and Prime Big Deal Days just might be the perfect time to stock up.

“There are a surprising number of great clothing brands on Amazon these days,” The Post’s VP of Commerce, Jackie Goldstein, said ahead of July’s Prime Day.

K-beauty buys

Medicube Zero Pore Pads

Medicube

Korean skincare is so popular, Amazon recently launched a dedicated K-beauty storefront. Medicube is consistently a bestseller at the retailer — and among Page Six readers.

Since summer is now in the rearview mirror, it’s a great time to add exfoliating acids — which brighten skin, but may cause sun sensitivity — to your skincare routine,

Hair tools

Dyson Airwrap i.d. Multi-Styler and Dryer

From Kylie Jenner to Beyoncé, plenty of stars have used the famed Airwrap. The multi-use hair tool promises less damage — but given the price-tag, it is certainly best to keep an eye out for sales.

Everyday essentials

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Original Patch

These are the kind of things you will stash in a closet and forget about — until a blemish pops up right before an event. Then, you will thank your lucky stars you bought them.

Footwear

Franco Sarto Marlina Mule

These mules have received a stamp of approval from Katie Holmes and Mindy Kaling. The chic style will carry you through the holiday season, pairing with everything from party dresses to jeans.

Drugstore beauty buys

RoC Retinol Correxion Under Eye Cream

Box and tube of RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream with before and after photos showing reduced crow's feet.

Another skincare staple we’ll be adding to our cart if it’s on sale? RoC retinol.

Brand ambassador Sarah Jessica Parker has said that the eye cream is her “true holy grail product for keeping my under eyes smooth,” and this writer couldn’t agree more on its efficacy.

Celeb-loved skincare

Erborian CC Crème

“This is my favorite thing,” Madelyn Cline said of this SPF-packed CC Créme in an Instagram post earlier this year.

It’s also popular with Page Six staffers and Amazon shoppers, who leave feedback calling the one-and-done facial makeup/skincare hybrid “an absolute game-changer.”

Noise-cancelling headphones

Bose QuietComfort Bluetooth Headphones

Not into Bluetooth buds that are easy to lose? Over-the-ear headphones are another good Prime Day bet. (Editor’s note: I’ve been wanting these for the longest time for subway commutes and other places I’d like to block out noise — so any sale pricing could be the best excuse to finally add them to my cart.)

Bose’s noise-cancelling pair gets incredible reviews and is also great for the gym, office or long flights. (Though, Beats Solo 4 headphones are already deeply discounted ahead of Prime Day, too, so you have options.)

Vitamin C serum

TruSkin Vitamin C Facial Serum

Previous Prime Days have brought incredible deals on fan-favorite TruSkin vitamin C serum. The Kyle Richards-approved formula promises hydrated, glowing skin.

At-home spa treatments

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Forget pumpkin spice — try the Pumpkin Enzyme mask, an anti-aging resurfacing treatment.

From Selena Gomez to Jamie Lee Curtis, plenty of stars use Peter Thomas Roth’s eye patches. Don’t miss all of the fan-favorite facial treatments while they’re discounted ahead of Prime Big Deal Days.

Cookware

Our Place Always Pan 2.0

Our Place

Selena Gomez is such an Our Place fan, she even collaborated with the cookware brand.

We absolutely love the versatility of this pan, which comes with a steamer basket and a wood spatula. It makes it an indispensable kitchen favorite and a wonderful gift.

New launches

Peripera Ink Peel Off Lip Stain

A Peripera lip gloss tube with a dark berry cap, centered between a berry-colored swatch and a red-brown swatch of metallic lip gloss.

There’s a new lip stain in town, from K-beauty brand Peripera, and the shades are too pretty not to scoop up.

It was just released, but shoppers are already giving it rave reviews calling it “absolutely fantastic.”

What to Skip During Prime Big Deal Days

TVs

Amazon Fire TV 32-Inch

In the past, Black Friday and Cyber Monday have brought bigger discounts on smart TVs. However, you still may be able to grab deals on Amazon brand models, like this Amazon Fire 32-Inch Smart TV that’s already on sale.

Often-on-sale products

Trendy Queen Cropped Cardigan Sweater

We adore this Paige DeSorbo-approved cardigan — but it’s often on sale, so no reason to shop it now unless you just have to have it! (The “Summer House” alum said on Amazon Live that she has at least three colors.)
