What’s coming to Amazon Prime in September
August 31, 2025
SALT LAKE CITY — Just in time for football, all seasons of “Friday Night Lights” are among the titles hitting Amazon Prime in September.
On air from 2006 to 2011, the show documents life in a small Texas town where football is everything. The series was loosely based on the 2004 film of the same name — one of my favorite sports movies — which is based on the 1990 book “Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream.” That’s a lot of watching and reading material for football fans in addition to the season’s early slate of college and NFL matchups.
Soon to be on Prime, the TV series includes a cast of the likes of Kyle Chandler, Minka Kelly and Jesse Plemons. According to its IMDb page, the show is “celebrated for its robust character arcs, engaging narratives, and stellar ensemble performances.”
Other titles hitting Amazon Prime in September include originals from the streaming service like “The Runarounds” and the cooking series “Dish It Out.”
