CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ideally, your summer vacation should be a break from politics.

Maybe not so much this year.

A survey last month found that 42% of American travelers said politics will “greatly impact their travel choices.” That’s up from 24% last September.

The poll, as well as news coverage of travelers being held up at the U.S. border and angry Canadians boycotting visits to the United States, got us wondering about Greater Clevelanders’ travel plans for this summer.

Are you weighing political concerns as you plan your summer vacation?

Or maybe economic uncertainty is playing a bigger role in where you go and how long you stay.

We’re researching a story about the role politics is playing in vacation planning. If you’d like to participate, please send us a note about how you’re making vacation decisions this year (email Travel editor Susan Glaser at sglaser@cleveland.com). Please keep your response to 100 words or less and include your name and hometown.
