If you were hoping for warmer temperatures to take a bite out of the big snowfall, you’ll have to wait a while.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is warning of “bitterly cold” conditions on the way for Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

The federal weather agency issued a yellow warning over the cold that’s expected to begin Monday night and last into Tuesday morning.

CBC’s Pratyush Dayal gives an update on how cold and snowy conditions are impacting the Windsor area.

Though the low for Monday night is -16 C, wind chill values will make it feel like -25 to -30, the agency said.

There’s also a chance of flurries in the forecast.

On Tuesday afternoon, the wind chill is expected to be around -20, while wind chills of -25 or -30 could return Tuesday night as well.

ECCC is reminding the public of the risks of extreme cold, including frostbite, which the agency says can develop within minutes on exposed skin.
