Woman-owned cannabis dispensary in Portland robbed at gunpoint: ‘Just demoralizing and sca

Green Goddess Remedies in Southwest Portland was still recovering from an SUV crash into its building last summer.

PORTLAND, Oregon — A Portland cannabis dispensary is asking for the public’s help after its manager was robbed at gunpoint last week.

“It’s just demoralizing and scary,” said Sally Bishop, owner of Green Goddess Remedies at 5435 Southwest Taylors Ferry Road. “They just ransacked the place. They took so much stuff it was unbelievable.”

Police said the robbery happened Sept. 14 around 10:30 a.m. Security video shows two masked men with guns entering the business. The manager on duty raised her hands and followed their orders, leading the suspects to the safe. Bishop said it was the second time the store has been robbed in the past 10 months.

“We’re all on pins and needles, and it makes it worse because we can’t see out our windows right now since they’re boarded up,” Bishop said, pointing to plywood covering damage from another incident.

In July, an SUV crashed into the front of the dispensary, shearing off part of the facade and causing structural damage. Bishop said repairs will cost about $200,000 and she is still waiting on the driver’s insurance.

“At this point I’m like, what’s next?” she said.

Bishop opened Green Goddess Remedies nearly 13 years ago, the same week recreational marijuana became legal in Oregon. She said she is proud of the small, woman-owned business she has built but noted that frequent cannabis-related break-ins in Portland have made operating increasingly difficult.

“I’ve lost employees over it who were traumatized,” she said. “This isn’t child’s play. Eventually — and it has happened — people are going to be killed.”

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Bishop is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters should reference case #25-253172.
