Amazon expands 30-minute grocery and essentials delivery across US

May 13, 2026

Amazon is widening the reach of its Amazon Now rapid delivery service in the US, extending 30-minute deliveries for groceries and household products to millions of customers.

The service is currently available across Atlanta, Dallas–Fort Worth, Philadelphia and Seattle.

Further expansion is planned in cities such as Austin, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, Orlando, and Phoenix.

Amazon Now provides access to thousands of items spanning fresh groceries, baby goods, electronics, and personal care products, as well as alcohol in locations where regulations permit.

Customers can use the service through a “30-Minute Delivery” option on the Amazon app and homepage, while eligible products are also integrated into standard search results.

Amazon said the operation relies on smaller fulfilment centres positioned close to residential and business districts to shorten delivery times and support efficiency.

The company said Amazon Now forms part of its broader fulfilment network, which also includes Prime Air drone deliveries, Same-Day Delivery services, and one-hour and three-hour delivery options.

Amazon worldwide operations senior vice-president Udit Madan said: “Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less.

“With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door.”

The expansion follows several recent logistics initiatives by Amazon.

Amazon Business recently broadened same-day delivery for fresh and perishable groceries to commercial customers at more than 2,300 US locations.

Earlier this month, the company launched Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS), making its freight, warehousing and delivery infrastructure available to companies beyond its own retail operations.

The service is aimed at retail, wholesale and commercial businesses moving goods from raw materials to finished products through Amazon’s logistics network.

“Amazon expands 30-minute grocery and essentials delivery across US” was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
