Apple TV executive behind ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ leaves for Amazon
April 21, 2026

Oliver Jones, an Apple TV executive who worked on shows including Masters of the Air and Disclaimer over the past six years, is leaving for Amazon MGM Studios. Here are the details.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon’s Nicole Clemens, who’s currently Amazon MGM Studios’ vice-president and head of international originals, announced internally that Oliver Jones will be joining the company.
Jones is leaving his role as senior creative executive for international scripted television at Apple TV, where he was involved with projects including Masters of the Air, Disclaimer, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which is a couple of episodes away from concluding its second season.
Here’s what Jones had to say about his departure, according to THR:
It has been a privilege to work alongside my brilliant colleagues at Apple TV for the past six years, and to collaborate with the remarkable artists I was lucky enough to work with. […] It’s always a tough decision to leave a job I love, but the time is right to come back home and start a new adventure. Amazon MGM Studios’ commitment and momentum in telling ambitious, provocative, premium stories, together with the scale of their increased investment in the U.K., means it couldn’t be a more exciting moment to be joining Nicole and her phenomenal team.
At Amazon, Jones will work as senior commissioner for U.K. scripted content, as part of Amazon’s effort to “expand [its] slate for U.K. and global audience,” according to Clemens.
