GreenGive Returns June 2-3 To Support Anne Arundel Environmental Groups
May 23, 2026
Nine Anne Arundel County environmental nonprofits will join forces for GreenGive 2026, a 2-day online giving campaign supporting local conservation, waterway restoration, forest protection, and environmental education.
The campaign will take place Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3. Now in its 10th year, GreenGive connects residents and businesses with local organizations working to restore waterways, protect natural areas and build healthier communities across Anne Arundel County.
This year’s shared fundraising goal is nearly $225,000. Donations made between May 19 and June 9 will be included in the campaign.
GreenGive supports environmental work throughout the county, including creek restoration, living shorelines, tree plantings, oyster restoration, forest conservation, community education and stormwater management projects.
“With federal and state funding uncertain, it has never been more critical to act locally to protect and restore our environment. If we don’t, who will?” said Suzanne Etgen, executive director of Watershed Stewards Academy. “Please join us on June 2–3 to ensure your local waterway, forest, or park is protected.”
The campaign highlights the role local nonprofits play in filling environmental gaps, from mobilizing volunteers and leading education programs to restoring habitats and advocating for stronger environmental policies.
“The Spa Creek Conservancy is an all-volunteer watershed organization with the mission of protecting and restoring Spa Creek in downtown Annapolis,” said Amy Clements, president of Spa Creek Conservancy. “We couldn’t accomplish any of our goals without the support of GreenGive partners who contribute expertise, helping hands, and cheerleading, when the creek is at its best and at its worst. Urban creeks like Spa Creek could all use great partnerships like GreenGive.”
The 2026 GreenGive partners are Arundel Rivers Federation, Crownsville Conservancy, Friends of Jug Bay, Scenic Rivers Land Trust, Severn River Association, Spa Creek Conservancy, St. Luke’s Restoration of Nature, Unity Gardens and Watershed Stewards Academy.
Projects supported by this year’s campaign include pollution-reduction work by Arundel Rivers Federation, natural space preservation through Crownsville Conservancy, research programs at Jug Bay, land conservation through Scenic Rivers Land Trust, oyster planting by Severn River Association and Spa Creek restoration work.
Other supported efforts include St. Luke’s Restoration of Nature’s 4-acre urban watershed campus in Eastport, Unity Gardens’ native plant grants and continuing education for more than 400 certified Watershed Stewards Academy stewards.
