Opening Remarks

Yao Jin, dean of the Low-Voltage Electrical Design Institute at JAC Group’s Technical Center, delivered the opening address. He noted that the global automotive industry is undergoing a profound shift toward electrification and intelligence, with AI-related electrical power consumption emerging as a central challenge. He emphasized that technical details embody collective supply chain wisdom. This ranges from power distribution systems to chip selection. It also carries user expectations for green mobility.

Gu Xiaoying, partner and executive vice president at Gasgoo, argued that breakthroughs in low-power vehicle electronics cannot rely on OEMs alone; they require collaboration across the supply chain. She encouraged suppliers to speak freely and share their results, while urging JAC Group colleagues to engage in active dialogue and standard-setting, turning consensus into core competitive strength. Gu also offered an analysis of China’s passenger vehicle market: cumulative sales for the first quarter of 2026 totaled 5.93 million, down 7.6% year-on-year. The decline stems largely from policy adjustments and the phase-out of NEV purchase tax subsidies at the end of 2025, which pulled forward demand. Looking ahead, driven by growth in new energy vehicles, replacement purchases, and exports, the market scale is projected to surpass 31 million units by 2030, with domestic brands potentially capturing an 80% share.
