Strategic deckbuilding game arrives with the new Masters of the Universe film
“By the Power of Grayskull… I have the power!” Yes, the wait is over – thanks to Amazon Luna and Mattel, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite is now available to play exclusively on Amazon Luna. Launching alongside the theatrical debut of the Masters of the Universe live-action feature film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios, fans can now jump into the action both on the big screen and in-game beginning today.
Free for Prime members, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite is an Amazon Luna exclusive that brings beloved characters and Eternian lore together for replayable couch co-op fun. Designed to be played solo or with a group, this strategic deckbuilding game lets players craft unique decks based on their favorite characters, battle strange foes and challenge each other to arcade competitions. With innovative controls, your phone becomes your hand of cards, and in one flick you send a card spinning to the television to attack foes, heal friends, and more.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Mattel to bring Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite to Amazon Luna,” said J.C. Connors, Director of Amazon Game Studios. “With the movie hitting theaters and the game available on Luna the same day, fans can experience all the great heroes, villains, and humor of one of the most iconic franchises, whether watching on the big screen or playing together in their living room.”
“Masters of the Universe has inspired fans for generations through storytelling, action, and imagination, and with Legends Unite coinciding with the film, we’re creating a way for fans new and old to engage with the franchise,” said Erika Winterholler, Head of Business Development – Digital Gaming at Mattel. “Partnering with Amazon Luna allows us to reach audiences wherever they are and continue expanding the Eternia’s universe through innovative digital play.”
From the mighty He-man, the fierce Teela, and the devious Skeletor, to the manipulative Evil-Lyn and the ever-resourceful Man-At-Arms, and more, players can choose from six legendary characters with distinct playstyles as they battle against Hordak and his relentless horde. In Adventure Mode, teammates work together to unleash powerful attacks, collect increasingly rare cards, and strengthen their characters across ever-changing challenges and landscapes.
Cooperation isn’t the only path to victory. Along the way, players compete in Trials of Eternia, arcade mini games where friendly competition amongst legends will grant precious bonuses to the victors. Snatch treasure from the Faceless One, dodge crushing boulders under Snake Mountain, and avoid falling into the depths of darkness to claim the rarest rewards.
A New Addition to GameNight
Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite joins the Amazon Luna GameNight collection of fun and approachable games playable from your living room. No controllers, consoles, or gaming PCs needed. GameNight games are designed to be enjoyed alone or together with family and friends — all you need is your phone and a TV and you’ll be joining the fight against Hordak.
As one of the most enduring global entertainment franchises, Masters of the Universe has captivated fans for more than 40 years through toys, animation, film, and games, making this latest interactive experience a natural next chapter for the brand. The launch also reflects Mattel Digital Studios’ vision to extend physical play to the virtual world by creating digital experiences based on Mattel IP that drive sustained engagement for fans of all ages.
