OpenAI Sued Over Sharing of Chatbot Queries With Meta, Google

A California resident sued OpenAI Global LLC for allegedly sharing users’ ChatGPT queries and personal information with Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC through online tracking technology.
Lead plaintiff Saje Lim alleges OpenAI embedded Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics tracking codes on its ChatGPT website that automatically transmitted users’ queries and identifying information to the tech giants without consent.
The complaint, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, in one of the first filed in federal court alleging the illegal disclosure of information submitted by users to AI chatbots. The tech companies use …
