Alongside the production agreement, the automakers also signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding designed to deepen collaboration across manufacturing scale, engineering capabilities, and research and development resources.

Subject to regulatory approvals and final implementation agreements, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd. (“DPCA”) plans to begin production of two all-new Peugeot new energy vehicle (NEV) models at its Wuhan manufacturing facility starting in 2027.

The upcoming models will adopt the latest design language previewed by Peugeot’s concept vehicle unveiled at the Auto China 2026. The vehicles will be sold in China while also serving export markets, supporting Peugeot’s broader international expansion strategy.

The agreement additionally covers the production of two new energy off-road models under the Jeep brand at the Wuhan plant beginning in 2027. These vehicles are intended for global distribution, signaling Stellantis’ continued push to position China as an export hub for electrified vehicle programs.

Backed by supportive automotive industry policies from Hubei Province and the Wuhan municipal government, the project will involve total investment exceeding 8 billion yuan (approximately 1 billion euros). Stellantis is expected to contribute roughly 130 million euros to the initiative.
