Gelonghui, May 1st | Tesla disclosed in its revised annual filing that it generated over US$500 million in revenue last year by selling products to two other enterprises owned by Elon Musk. In January this year, Tesla first revealed that the majority of this revenue, approximately US$430.1 million, came from transactions with xAI, an artificial intelligence startup under Musk. In an amended filing submitted on Thursday, Tesla further stated that it had also recognized US$143.3 million in revenue from SpaceX, Musk’s privately held aerospace company. This latter amount was not disclosed in Tesla’s initial annual report released in January. Earlier this month, media reports indicated that SpaceX purchased Cybertruck electric pickup trucks worth more than US$100 million from Tesla in the fourth quarter of last year—a model that has shown sluggish sales performance.
