MADISON (WKOW) — The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin just wrapped up ‘Fat Bird Week’ and named the bird that came out on top.

The purpose of Fat Bird Week is to turn the joy of looking at photos of “fat” birds into awareness about the plight of Wisconsin’s native bird population —and how the public can help keep them fat and healthy.

The “Jiggly junco” flew its way to victory over the wood duck with a dad-bod in the final matchup.

The junco got 59-percent of the vote.

Fat bird week is an effort to raise awareness about the issues Wisconsin’s native birds face.
